I just came across this site recently.  The advertising space is taken at the top right corner of the screen so I can’t really see any other use for the the space.

When you first arrive at the sales page you notice this message, “Let’s Face It: Customers Are Sick To Death of Pop-Ups, Fly-Ins, and Pop-Unders!!!”  I would have to agree with this because I do had java scripted annoyances on websites.  In most cases I won’t leave the site because of bad advertising, but will rather ignore it.

As for alternatives, I wasn’t able to find any.  It looks like a few people create Flash page turning effects in the past but all run in a set frame size which wouldn’t function the same.

So it’s pretty much up to you. I personally don’t have any immediate uses for the script. The component is also somewhat eyecatching. So if you think that $37.00 is worth the effect, go right ahead and buy it.
