How I Organize my Writing
I currently have a fairly defined way of writing. In the past I did not express myself through any sort of medium, which caused me to lose many great ideas. When I became interested in journaling, it was almost like an avalanche of information pouring from my head. Concerns from the past, filled folders on my computer rather than my head. Happenings from the day became easier to make sense of, as opposed to trying to sort them out in my mind.
It’s easy to say that the basics of the way I currently write revolve around journaling. Without it I would not have the ability to sort out life and further fragmented thoughts. My basic method is to place a date on a file, and write on a specific topic. If I have another idea, I simply make another file with the same date but a different title. After a few weeks, the folder grows significantly and I can go back and reference or even modify old ideas.
When I feel something is ready, I simply review it and correct it. Next I move it into a folder so that I know it has been published. For now this method has been working quite well. It also allows me much more time to think of new ideas, rather than urgently try to pull something out of thin air. Starting with a large base of ideas was a good plan because it also allows me to create a continual stream of posts.
