Why Chad from CDFNetworks should pick me…

Hopefully you saw this link back to your post Chad. I didn’t want to fill up your comments with a massive book, but I did feel that I had much more to say.

Hello Chad,
My name is Jason and I’m definitely interested in this opportunity. Why should you pick me? - If you pick me, you will find out how devoted, punctual, creative, and passionate I can be. I just turned 22 yesterday and have been blogging for about a year now. For about two months I have been religiously reading your blog and learning everything I can about affiliate marketing. I have been reading a few other blogs, but I can say for certain that I already look to you as a mentor on my journey.

Where do I ultimately see myself?

This might sound funny, but I’m not doing it for the money. Yes, money is great, but when it comes down to it money is nothing. I’m in it for the long haul for multiple reasons:

Community - I want to build lasting friendships with other people in the field.

Freedom and Success - Right now I work at a children group home. Even though the job is very fulfilling, there is a need that I must meet within myself. At heart I am an entrepreneur and already have a business plan or two written for other projects I will begin. However, I require more money to get the ball rolling.

What is my experience?

As far as my technical background goes, I have experience programming in: HTML, some Java, PHP, and Actionscript. Actionscript is a programming language used in Adobe Flash (a program I have been using for a long time.)

Conclusion

Well Chad, once again I hope you found this post because even though I already learn a lot from your blog, I really look forward to working with you one-on-one.

Thanks

Affiliate Summit Videos

Seeing as how I just got into affiliate marketing a month or two back, I was very excited when i found out about Affiliate Summit.  Of course, I wasn’t able to go because short notice.  This led me to looking for videos back when the event had ended, but no luck at the time…  Today I found out that Affiliate Summit allows you to watch the presentations (for free).  All you have to do is register your e-mail and confirm it.  Videos for Affiliate Summit

Selling Your Blog You Say? - Goodbye

Published by thought under Business, Communication

Every couple of months I read a post about someone selling their blog for X amount of dollars, and every time I lose a little bit of interest in those blogs.  The only blogs that I ever see posting this are the “make money online blogs.”

Why Make Money Online Blogs?

My guess is they can use it as publicity for the actual sale.  If you think about it, most of these blogs are very popular in some circles.  When they post something such as a potential sale, information spreads quickly, and soon everyone is talking about it.

I personally don’t like to buy into the hype.  It was interesting with the first couple sales, but after I saw what the new authors did with the blogs, I just stopped visiting any sold blogs.

I don’t think you can sell a blog and still retain the long-time readers.  That is unless you have a staff of writers that will stay on with the new owner.  I visit certain blogs on a daily basis because I connect with the author.  He/she gives me something that I can’t find anywhere else.  So handing over the reigns to a different author and assuming that I won’t have a problem with it is a little misjudged on the seller’s part.

I shook Obama’s hand

So I went to the rally on Saturday and it was amazing. I stood in line for 3-4 hours, but it was worth it. My only regret is that I wish I would have sold some apparel. There were nearly 8000 people there and I bet I could have sold at least 100 buttons for $3-$5 a piece. Well, anyways I setup a website as sort of an experiment with local advertising. ObamainMissoula.com - it has some affiliate advertising and also some T-shirts from cafepress. It has only been active for a few days, but I will be sure to update this blog with anything interesting I come across. Be sure to check out my Crowd Surfing Baby Video

Journaling and How I Use it to Creat To Do Lists

I have tried both ways. Writing my journal in the morning about what I am going to do that day and what I did the previous day, and doing the same at the end of the day. The most beneficial process that works for me is to write in the morning.

Why is this?

I believe that when I layout my concerns from yesterday, I am in turn creating a list of things to do. This list is what gives me the ability to get things done that I have thoroughly thought out through journaling. On the other hand, if I created journal entries at night when I had already completed everything, I feel that the gap of time while I sleep would get my mind off track from what I had previously written.

To do Lists from Journaling

Pulling my to do list from my journal is one of the most productive things I have learned to do as of yet. Considering that everything I write about in my journal entries have to do with concerns and things I have done and would like to do, it is no wonder why I was able to find an already formed to do list within it.

Another process I haven’t tried would be to journal in the morning and also journal in the evening when I had completed all of the tasks I had previously set out.

How do you keep track of what you are going to do on any given day?

  • Do you make to do lists?
  • Do you write a journal?
  • Or do you have a different process entirely?
