Online Gambling: A quick look

Published by thought under Web Development

To be honest, I don’t look at or use online betting sites very often if at all. It’s not that I don’t gamble, but I have just never really given online gambling any thought. However, I have given thought to creating an online casino or gambling site in the past.

So here is a look at a gambling site called Bet365.com which is an online casino site.

The first thing I notice when I look at the site is the sheer complexity which makes me want to forget about trying to create such a site in the first place. But once I come to my sense and look around, I see a few familiar things and am ready to start breaking this site down.

First of all, I like the flashy Flash component in the center of the page right when you load the page. With any other site this wouldn’t fit, but since this is a betting site, it is right in line.

Second, the clear use of color on the site makes it easy to see which options are important and which are not as important. This is crucial when directing traffic over your site and making sure users see something specific.

Third, I think I will take a look at a specific spot on the site for a little bit better or in-depth observation. So let’s follow this link labeled, “Card Games” under “Instant Play.” From here let’s try out Black Jack…

All the games are running in Flash which seems to be a standard in online gambling and gaming now. Aside from that, the game is very easy to use and learn. Not only that, but the artwork/graphics are quite nice. The game also allows you to play with fake or real money. Now if only I was good at black jack could I use real money…

Is the secret working for you?

If you have seen a movie called The Secret, then you have undoubtedly tried using The Law of Attraction in your life.  Maybe you wanted more money.  Or perhaps you needed a little more enjoyment out of life.  Whatever your life was missing, you tried to fill it with The Law of Attraction.

For me it has been months since I watched the movie.  Overall I’d have to say that the methods have made a very positive impact in my life.  Instead of limiting something like money for example, I have learned to find ways to make money.  This is contrary to the previous non-method of not doing anything and regretting no acting in the end.

The main reason I am posting about The Law of Attraction is because I am going to be doing an experiment.  I am going to be trying different methods of using The Law of Attraction as stated in the movie, The Secret, to observe changes in my own life.  As you read future postings about these methods, feel free to apply and change them in your own life.

Conclusion

With these future observational posts, I am going to fundamentally gain a better understanding of what works and what doesn’t when “attracting” something into your life.

Product site: A quick look

Published by thought under Web Development

If remember a few months back, then you know that I am and have been interested in starting some sort of product site. Whether it is drop shipped or some other sort of product, I basically just want to do it for the challenge. So from time to time you will see posts in this format which will help me and hopefully you find some guidance in creating a related site.
Here is a vacuum and vacuum cleaner parts site from a well known and profitable dealer- Dyson.
First of all I have to say that I truthfully don’t like black backgrounds on website anymore, but this one does indeed work. The white text on the background makes it stand out very well. With a touch of grey in distance, your eyes are also not hurting with the difference in contrast.
The thing I like most about the site (which I would like to imitate in my future projects) is the selection at the bottom. You have three sections to choose from: online store, about dyson, and support. This selection doesn’t go overboard and give you more options than you need. Yet, it relies on simplicity; something every site could use.
Another thing worth mentioning is the clean and easy to use part finding section- It also practices simplicity. Now if only every product site on the internet were this easy to navigate…

All the Lonely Bloggers

Right now as I sit here at an L-shaped desk in a black high back chair staring into my computer screen, I am listening to, “All the lonely people – The Beatles.” Minutes ago the thought that this song relates in some strange and distant way to blogging- but then again, doesn’t everything?

All these lonely people, where do they all come from? Blogging in isolation can get fairly lonely indeed. At times you wonder if anyone is reading what you write everyday. You’re always hoping on some level that days or even months from now this information will reach someone. Yet after all of your hard work, you don’t see any sign of visitors whatsoever. What to do… Do you give up on this thing we call blogging? Or do you try something different? - Something brave, innovative, or even unusual.

Crucial thoughts

Blogging is really only writing something that you want someone else to read. How you want them to feel, think, or react is up to you…
