If you read my blog then you might have been wondering where I have been for the past 3 weeks. The short and simple answer is that I was curious as to what would happen if I walked away and simply stopped posting. But after the second week I came down with something and just didn’t feel up to posting.
While I sat back and observed I noticed some interesting activities taking place. Firstly, even though you might drop off the face of the earth, traffic will still come to your site. Yet even though you might be gone it does seem to plateau at a certain level. That is to say that if you maintained a steady amount of traffic while posting, there will be a steady amount of traffic continually coming by the day if you stop.
Second, since Adsense is largely affected by traffic, it only makes sense that if you are still receiving traffic you will still receive Adsense or any type of advertising income.
Lastly thing that was always on my mind as I waited was boredom. Yes, I do write in other places and formulate ideas and opinions, but nobody reads them. When I write something for another’s eyes, I feel I place more time in providing something of worth and substance rather than whatever comes to mind.
So now comes the last part of the test, getting back on a ‘posting schedule.’ But we are indeed creatures of habit and if a habit it is easily broken, it will hopefully be easily attainable.
