It seems like a good time to start dealing with this comment spam. Everyday I find a handful of dirty little comments built up in moderation. And everyday I have to go through and delete these comments. So today I will start logging the IP address of all these comment spammers and placing them on the black list. This seems like the easiest way to quickly rid myself of the pointless garbage that keeps accumulating day after day.
What if your friends all turned you away? Or perhaps if they act like they just don’t care about your life or problems anymore?
Friends are one of the strangest things that you can ever have. Without friends you limit your life and experiences to only that which takes place in your immediate family- boring for most. But with friends you can find more enjoyment but sometimes complications and frustration in life.
As I sit here at my desk writing this today, I feel compelled to define what a friend really is. Everyday we meet new people. Sometimes they leave a good impression, and other times a bad one. However, a friend is supposed to be someone you stick around because they enlighten you. That is what makes them a friend and not just an acquaintance. You like being around that person. Otherwise you are just spending time around the individual to receive something. Perhaps money or social status; the list goes on and on. A friend doesn’t need anything but your presence.
Find yourself in a bad mood? A good friend usually has a type of connection with you, even a rapport to catch on and notice this. Other people may notice your emotion, but not care to help better your discomfort. A friend will help you the best they know how.
Ever really screwed up? I am not talking about a simple mistake. Perhaps you did something really outrageous and mean to your friend. If you are intelligent enough to learn from your mistakes, your friend should too. This enforces the unconditional bond you and your friends should have. A friend is unconditional.
Taking Action
So you might find your life at what seems like a fork in the road. Your life seems to be going down hill. Part of the decision you have to make is evaluating the people around you. Take a good look at your friends. How do they make you feel? Do they bring out the best in you?
Don’t immediately push a friend away purely based on evaluation. Give them a second chance. If they are a good friend, they’d do the same.
Life is not about work at all. Rather life is about fulfillment. I think most people get it wrong and try to find fulfillment through work. Some might actually succeed if they are doing what they want, but most of the time will fail. It is even difficult to figure out where this huge misconception began. Parents definitely have something to do with it. If your parents are successful, why not follow their footsteps? If they are happy, why not live like they do? But if your parents are work-aholics chances are that you will grow up to mirror this addiction.
When we need something, we get it the way we were taught how to do so. A common example is money. The majority of us are brought up believing that the best and most efficient way to make money is by working for someone else. This is commonly referred to as a job. It consists of forty or more hours in which you perform specific tasks. But once again, the reason most of us work is because our parents taught us how.
At one point or another some of us slowly open our eyes to the other financial opportunities which exist in the world around us. This can both be frightening and at the same time exciting. The feeling can take most people over and also guide them through life on a high of fulfillment. But is this the end of what seems like a never ending search for happiness?
You may have heard from a mentor in the past, “Find something you like to do and then see if you can make money doing it.” Of course the phrase is much easier to hear than to actually apply to ones life. Figuring out what you love to do is a completely different subject that I will cover in the future. Even though I am unable to answer all of your questions here, I’d just like to leave you with this. Defining what you really want in life is the key to answer all of the other questions in life. ‘Wants’ guide us to interests, hobbies, and goals. So if you are having trouble finding purpose or guidance in life, sit down and define what you already have and what you want.
Separate yourself from your medium. If you spend most of your time at a computer, go outside and take a break. If you don’t already do this you will be surprised. Just fifteen minutes doing something unrelated can work wonders on you progress.
Two
Take time to, “think outside of the box.” If you are trying to create something new and innovative, following in others footsteps is the worst way to do so. The reason it is so difficult being that you are hoping for something completely new but using an already established template to build it. Every now and again you have to take ten steps back and re-access the basics. Three
Somewhat along the same lines as the previous tip; take a break from your peers and groups. Again if you spend all your time in one area, your work will likely reflect this. If you frequently traffic a certain blog or group of blogs you will have to take a break from these to create something different and unique.
For awhile now I have been annoyed by the default, “Blogroll” in Word Press for a number of reasons. Mainly, I didn’t like the fact that it took up so much space.
So you may have noticed on the left of the site I have replaced it with a RSS Flash component. You will now be able to see:
Site name, URL, Description, Title, and Specific Article URL. There are currently five sites on the list and they are randomly generated when you enter my site.
I also included a scroll bar so that you will be able to see a good number of posts from the site. It’s not yet very colorful but I just put it all together today and I guess you could call it the, “Beta.”
If you think I can add anything feel free to leave me a comment.
**update**
I just found an issue when using IE with the component. FireFox and Opera work fine though…
